I loved the story, but it was not long enough and felt like it wasn't completed. The ending left you hanging.
This book is a very short story and I wish it was a longer book, it is a very good reading book and I will look for more books from this author.
This is a story taking place at the end of the Civil War. There is love and caring between the characters.
I recently purchased this novella and thouroughly enjoyed it. An enjoyable short story with well thought out characters that makes you want more stories featuring the same characters. Hope to see more of Jason and his "Angel" in future shorts.
I loved this story. Right from the beginning, I was caught up in the hero and heroine and their plight. My only gripe--this is a short story and I wish it had been longer. I could have easily read 200+ pages, the characters and setting were that fascinating.
Cheryl Pierson has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I loved this story for so many reasons but one that really stood out was it really brought out my Southern Roots. As I read I could hear a sweet Southern voice reading each word. That is a gift that I can appreciate in any author. I love these shorter stories because it really makes it easier to read a book from cover to cover so to speak without having to try and return to catch a snip here or there. Cheryle has the wonderful quality of telling a beautiful story in a format that helps me to get into it, stay with it, and finish it in a manageble time frame. I've found my new passion of indulging myself and it's not going to break my bank.I plan to indulge in more of this author's work just as fast as she can churn them out.
Sweet Civil War story but very short for one. I love Civil War novels, but I think I enjoy the longer works. About the time you get to care about the characters, the story ends, and you don't really know what happened with the other two main characters, the brother and sister. This book could have been a bit longer than have the ending just that the war ended. I noticed a small mistake or two in word usage, typos that were not caught, but the novella is well written otherwise. I loved the characters, but wanted more than such a short story. As I said, just as you get to really know and care about them, the story ends. Girl meets Union soldier and his brother while working in hospital and brings them home to make sure they receive better care. Sweet, simple falling-in-love story.
